They will never surrender their weapons. Their whole existence is based on arms. Without arms and violence, Maoists cease to exist. Besides they can have good free meals, extort money and threaten or kill those who they don't like with their weapons. Do you think they will give up so easily? Even if the top Maoist leaders give up violence, there will be bunch of fractioned armed groups that will exist in the country. They may not be known as Maoists from there on, but they will be ex-maoists turned dacoits, armed gangs & robbers. Maoists have sown violence in our society and it will take a long long time to get rid of it if we ever can.
