HI, WE WERE SUCCESSFUL IN CHANGING A B-1 TO F-1 IN MARCH. THE PERSON CAME HERE IN FEBRUARY THIRD WEEK 2006 WITH 1 MONTH STAMP AS B1/B2 IN MARCH FIRST WEEK WE APPLIED FOR CHANGE OF STATUS IN FIRST WEEK OF APRIL, WE RECIEVED AN APPROVAL. The school we choose was a law school, A PRIVATE UNIVERSITY, remember it !!! They will be more helpful than state run or semi gov. Next, documentation is important. the cover letter should be clear on why issue? you have to show evidence that circumstances have changed since you were here and the field of study you chose is a subject of your own field the school will issue an I-20 first as a perspective student, based on the financial document you can provide. request the school for scholarship too, as this will justify your case better.
