If you are working check with your employer; if you are in school check at your school. The cost of insurance depends on where you are located. Insurance does not cover pre-existing conditions. Once you get insurance and say you need a crown and it costs $1000. The insurance will not cover any of your costs if you go to see the dentist the next day after you get the insurance because it will be considered "pre-existing" condition. The reason is that you do not develop a cavity over-night. First check with your employer/school for insurance and also check with insurance agents. Insurance agents also sell dental insurance. You need to do some research on what will save you money. Also check how much will be your deductible for various procedures. The best deal for dental insurance is through employment. If you get insurance through employers usually per-existing conditions are covered. good luck.
