I think they will continue to say this for two reasons until the new government announces elections to constituent assembly: #1) Like any othe rpolitical entity they are trying to make the most of the situation. Since they know that many people would have liked to see republic straight without the parliament, they want to cash in on that mood right now and see if that can give them some political mileage. This is a bit dishonest given their commitment to the 12-point understanding which clearly states reinstatement of the parliament-new gov.-election to constituent assembly as the main part of the margachitra (roadmap) #2) The seven parties got what they wanted first--their parliament where they have a representation except for one or two parties (like CPN-ML of CP Mainali and CPN United of Bishnu B. Manandhar). The Maoists have nothing in it. Their rejection of the current offer might be political tactics to press the SPA alliance and the new government to opt for constituent assembly, immediately. I think Madhab Nepal was trying to say this also in his BBC interview today. My two cents.
