The youth in the streets are fighting for opportunity to live a dignified life. They are fighting for an opportunity to live freely and oppose suppressive forces. They are not fighting to replace the king with political leaders. It is the political leaders who also fail their aspiration. So do not confuse the aspiration of the people with the performance of inept leaders. But it is going to be different this time. Those who fail them will also be held accountable. More Nepalese have become aware of what democracy is and wish to life freely and get opportunity to better themseves. That is a basic human need. From this youth, new leadership will emerge that will benefit Nepal. If you think we cannot live or imagine life without monarchy, it is your weakness and failure to foster bold vision. And you make it pretty apparent by the tirade you express against the democratic aspiration and treat the youth in the street as being clueless and misguided. It is not people's fault when the leaders cheat them. But these so called leaders cannot fool the people all the time. There is a need to check these corrupt leaders in the coming democratic system, but there is NO PLACE FOR MONARCHY. And there is no pride in being the only Hindu country if that means perpetuating inequality and caste division. It is time to be proud or being a truly democratic country with constitutional guarantee of full civil liberties and human rights. India is the original Hindusthan, and they are far more diverse than Nepal, yet they have been able to manage democratically, so why not Nepal? By its very nature, monarchy in Nepal cannot be neutral--history proves it. By the very human nature a king cannot be someone "who do no mistake". It is human nature to make mistakes. The alure of power and wealth is too strong. It has not stopped monarchy from cheatng Nepalese people or disregard the lives lost in struggle for freedom. So the bottom line is: Any vestige of monarchy in Nepal is cheating Nepalese people all over again.
