Let’s announce constituent assembly election! The king has already said that people are the source of the nation and that he has transferred the sovereignty of the nation to the people. So, instead of continuing the indefinite protests, shouldn’t the SPA act smart? Let’s go ahead and 1. Organize a grand round table conference of all the parties, Maoists, civic society, professionals, intellectuals, human rightists etc and form an interim government by the same conference. 2. Publicly announce the army and police to co-operate people’s new government. I believe they will or we will seek UN intervention if they do not. 3. Announce the neighbors and friendly nations to recognize people’s new government. 4. Keep Nepal Army and Maoist force under UN supervision. 5. Hold the election of Constituent Assembly. 6. Decide the fate of the monarchy by the constituent assembly. This whole process doesn’t require approval of the king as he is nobody. If we do not go this way and expect the king to serve us “loktantra” on a tray…it will be a long procedure..
