Jimmy Carter's visit to Nepal has been cancelled. We have to understand what was the purpose of the visit to find out why it has been cancelled. The purpose was to try to find an agreeing point between the political parties and the palace so that Nepal could return to peace. However, the Americans have now realised that any effort to support the political parties is going to benefit the Maoists and no one else. The Americans have realised this now and may even supply weapons to Nepal to control the Maoists in any way possible, even though autocratic rule of the King is not the best choice. The excuse that the visit has been cancelled due to current turmoil is a hoax. This turmoil has been here since past 14 years.
