Yes, I have heard the same thing. With EB2, you can get your green card in as early as 6 months. And, you get your work permit within 2 months. That's what I understand from a friend who got his this way. BUT Make sure you have PhD from a good reputable school in an in-demand subject, preferably hard science such as Chemistry, Physics, Biology, etc. Also, it helps if you have a job offer and a recommendation letter from one of the national labs or relevant government agencies.
