The DV program has been controversial since it was incepted...so, us arguing over the same is nothing new. I agree with Nepal Ko Choro on one instance. Canada has higher requirements for its PR program...but in no way is the same as the DV program. The USA has a similar program, but it goes through H1B first...then after 6 yrs, you are eligible for Green Card. About DV program bringing in cheap labor....it might be true, but the USA has enough Mexicans and others to handle cheap labors.....Since DV is for any one with high school education and beyond...anyone can apply having met the qualifications. I have few frens who won the DV...and were Doctors in Nepal.....and are in the same profession here as well. Would be nice if the DV program would consider (non-immigrant)graduates from US colleges as well...or have a separate program to provide them with some way towards Green Card....Well, enough said !! It gets repetitive now ! Cheers !
