on General tab, check the radio button, USE THIS IP ADDRESS
on IP: 192.168.1.xxx x can be anything from 100. 103, 104, 106, watever
subnetmask should come up automatically, if not it will be 255.255.255.0

USE THE FOLLOWING DNS SERVER:
preferred DNS: 192.168.1.1
leave another empty.
i have no idea what your problem is, until i get more info. till then give this a shot! might not even work! lol! :P
and if you could go back to services and give me more info on errors, not just one, find somethin with DNS or DHCP in it and paste a few.
