2005 National League
EAST
1 NY Mets - Great offseason, new closer, catcher & 1st baseman
2 Atlanta - their NL East reign is over, gotta give credit to Mets, their system STILL works
3 Philadelphia - no big signing; you let go superstar closer and 1st Baseman, good OFs
4 Washington - getting fonso to play LF was not a good idea
5 Florida - Minor league???
CENTRAL
1 St. Louis - Still the best team in NL
2 Houston - still got good players; no more clemens and Bagwell
3 Chicago Cubs - depends on the starting rotation, how healthy are they
3 Cincinnati - Is Junior healthy? pitching got better
5 Pittsburgh - being the toughest division is bad
6 Milwaukee - last year was great but it won't be happening this year
WEST
1 San Francisco - Barry Bonds.
2 San Diego - good young core players with great veteran OFs, good pitching staff
3 Los Angeles - injury ridden team
3 Arizona - suspect pitching, aging outfielders
5 Colorado - still rebuilding?
Most Valuable Player - Albert Pujlos, St Louis Cardinals
Cy Young - Jake Peavy, San Diego Padres
Most Improved Player - Steve Finely, San Francisco Giants
Sleeper team - Cincy Reds
