KnightCrawler, I don't believe Hinduism is a world religion; it is not widely practiced all over the world as you state. Hinduism is confined to very small part of the world; it has very narrow views of people of other faith. In order to a Hindu you have to be born in to one. Taking all these tenants in to consideration, I do believe is a pet religion of Brahmins.
