I also spent a good amount of time in the countryside of America. A dry county, churches in almost every block, few fast food joints and one Wal-Mart, less people than in my tole in Nepal, and that was it. The only fun thing to do during weekends was to drive to the nearest liquor store which was about an hour away, get drunk and hangout in Wal-Mart. And yes, that was America, the real America. Not what I saw on movies or on cable channels. I was quite not ready for such a culture shock. However, I did meet some really nice people. But unfortunately their self-righteous, judge mental and arrogantly flag wavering attitude would just destroy whatever good that had to offer. I pitied those ignorant, illiterate fools. But it is hard to pity them when they go and vote their leaders whose action can change lives of many abroad.
