The source also said that the NEA production index also shows that the production of electricity was deliberately reduced though most of the powerhouses have got adequate production capacity currently. Several proposals of foreign companies to work for the establishment of the plant has also been received at the NEA. The cost of electricity produced by such plant is estimated to be around Rs 32 per unit while the current average rate is Rs 6.81 per unit, the source said. "A hefty commission will come in planting the diesel plant, that's why the power outage has been created," the source claimed. Most of the Kathmandu based agents of various companies are currently busy in visiting the officials of the NEA and Ministry of Water Resources, the source added.
