Gallant, Somewhere in Nepal, in our backyard, there is some kind of tribe where it is considered normal for a woman to marry multiple brothers, but i believe it was rather because of economical needs, as much as it was cultural thing. This, I read in a published article. Thus, polyandry does exist, forget about other societies - but in our very own backyard. However, the article also noted that, slowly the villagers are avoiding it little by little. And in another place, this too in our backyard, the entire village offers their females for a price re. I do not know what category we shall put it as. Perhaps "economical and educational failure" category? Basically, + personally what I believe is, in general, the stronger the male dominance is, the more prevelant polygyny is - case in point - muslim culture. But how often have we seen, a male marrying second female without even divorcing the first one? We are still fighting for "citizenship rights in mother's name, and that, in my book, do not give us much face to point fingers at muslim culture - not that you were. Hoina ta? But Dropadi was a lucky woman, if you would ask me ;). If I was born then, she probably would have had to marry 5 pandavs. :p Re kya;) IndisGuise:)
