The child is a natural born citizen but the mother get's nothing! The child has the right to live in the U.S etc and can sponsor the parents when the child reaches age 18 but not before that. In many cases such as this, the child is taken back to the home country (here Nepal) and then chooses AMerican Citizenship at age 18 (Nepal does not allow dual citizenship) and can then sponor parents. It's a long winded illogical process but it is what it is.
