from BBC News World: "Bomjan's followers claim he was an incarnation of Lord Buddha who was born in Lumbini, in present-day Nepal, more than 2,500 years ago." Bomjan is not to blame for his follower's claims. Just people trying get attention or seeking some spritual escape. But my question is how can these people claim incarnation of Lord Buddha? Do these "followers" have any idea about incarnation according to Buddhism? Lord Buddha attained Nirvana, meaning he doesn't have to be reborn in the vicious cycle or reincarnation. Reincarnation of Lord Buddha is not logical according to the basic principle of Buddhism as I understand it. Unless you are following Buddhism from a Hindu perspective, then you can have reincarnations (avatars) like other Hindu gods.
