I know that like you, I harbour hopes of being able to go back after a while. I do believe that it is important for the youth- irrrespective of their education levels to go back and try and make a positive difference in any way they can. Having said that, I don't know if it is absolutely necessary that one has to be on the ground in Nepal to effecutate the change that is so desperately needed. I'm thinking of organizations like CRY (Child Relief and You) and ASHA for Education, both are organizations that were started in the U.S by Indians who left India and came to the U.S in search of jobs/education. Having completed education and being successful in getting jobs, they strated a avery concerted effort to do the work that was needed. Both organizations are largely run by donations made to them by Non Resident Indians. My point is that yes, there is more that one can do by being in Nepal and there is noting like being on the ground to know what the reality of the situation is, but, not everyone has the ability and the option to go back and that should not be a factor that stops people from wanting and being able to help.
