Thugged out, Your post above is interesting in that you say Nepal will always remain a cesspool because of the antiquated thoughts of people..you envision a society that has succeeded with diversity and then go on to make comments saying "Sherpa can join their Tibetan brethren" and "Magars, Gurungs, Rais, Tamangs and other look alikes"...you are doing a pretty darn good job of contributing to that very cess pool which only seconds ago, you derided. As for the U.S being a beacon of diversity - what about the inner cities and Katrina? If you think that the lack of response to Katrina was not due to racial bias on the part of the Federal government - there's an obvious point you are missing. In addition, let's not forget that there is still very much a culture of Institutionalized Racism against Immigrants and people of colour, so no, America is not a beacon of diversity as you seem to believe it is. If you want to effectuate change in the way people think and bring about a successful integration of diveristy into Nepali society--you certainly aren't going about it the right way. As a Bahun, your sentiments may have been hurt to read other threads that admittedly are becomming more frequent on Sajha..but..is the only response to add fuel to the fire by making the glaring generalizations that you have made above. As for you Mr. Koirala, the less said about your comments on the "lida Magars", the better.
