Very impressive replies. Thank you all, thank you so much. I am more or less agree with all of you :). Before continuing my understanding about Muhammed and Islam, let me clearify something. I have been saying that I don't accept things blindly. Everything which is not logical, rational, practicle, scientific and result oriented, I reject it. I reject it no matter whosoever has said it or written it. I don't accept those verses of Kooran that doesn't meet aforementioned criterian. I am with all of you guys, I don't have anything to argue with. Clear?? I am writing here about Muhammed, who, I believe, was a great man. He was not perfect but he was incomparable among Arabs of those days. This doesn't mean that I appreciate Islam, especially the modern form of Islam. One thing is sure, if I were in Arab at the time of Muhammed, I would have been Muslim :). I am talking about Muhammed, a person, not about Muslims. Judge my words! If you don't find them rational, I will love to hear rational from you. Regrettably, the person, whom I am talkig about, is a founder of an organized religion, whose followers are very irrational. Let me take it out of this religion and judge him. Let me explain what i wrote before. Muhammed picked up weapon for self protection ...... after great tolerence. I can't judge this because I can't accept violence at any form. He eradicated slavery, which was deep rooted in the society at that time. Wasn't he ahead of some people of 21st century who had been enjoying slaves till few years ago. Think how difficult to think of complete revolutionary idea! We like and enjoy the culture and tradition where we born and grow up. We can not see imperfections of our tradition and culture until we get opportunity to compare. If you are landlord you can not see any wrong with Kamaiya tradition. This is true for common people. However, this man could see slavery as impurity of the society and he eradicated it. Wasn't he extraordinary? To marry widows and adopt orphans was also wisest discission. In our tradition widows were so biased till yesterday. It was consider sin to look at widows. How shameful! Think of being a widow! There was no place for widows in our society. He made rule to accomodate widows and orphans. Widows and orphans enjoyed protection in Islamic world. Isn't it rational?
