I am getting problem w/ getting Individual Tax Payers Identification Number for my spouse (she is on F2). W-7 instruction says W7 application should be submitted along with the applicant's tax return. I went to IRS service center and the lady over there made me more confused by saying that when I fie my tax (I am filing 1040 NR) I need to attach her W-7 application with my Tax Returns n order o get ITIN. The process the lady said and written on publication are different. Does anybody have any idea on process? Please advise. I am not willing to send her orginial documents to Philadelphia IRS for document verification ( a process for W-7) by post.
