usa is pretty strict about cotton imports unless the cotton is produced/grown in usa and sent abroad for finished product. if it's produced and finished outside, it is subject 22% customs, which can be handled by your custom agent. but, there is a quota of import of cotton into the usa. you might want to check secretary of commerce's web site for that. if it is jewelry, then it has to be finished product which means, they have to be pendant, rings, etc, not biscuits and coins.i think, there is also a limit of amount of gold you can bring in. visit this site : - http://www.firstgov.com You should get all your answers there. their is no import/licence to bring products from abroad to sell in the US market, unless they are perishable items such as food/medicines (must be approved by FDA), ciggs, alcholol, electronics etc. no license required for handicraft goods and no customs if labeled cottage handicraft by the govt of the country of origin (cotton excluded). also, you cannot import products that are related to endangered species. i hope that helps
