I love the early hope and the later angst that you capture so well and I couldn't agree with you more in your characterizations of "puerile" Sujata and "posseur" Nona. I sense there may be a measure of autobiographical content in the above narration and if so, then, I completely identify with what you have said. Thousands raised their voices and took risks that they had never before imagined to restore Democracy in 1990 only to contend with a bunch of hoodlums and the string of betrayal of promises made along the way. Irrespective of the fallacies that we were fed by those we trusted, my own fervent hope is that lessons have been learnt and that the new dawn of Democracy will herald a better Nepal..do I believe that? no, but I desperately need to bring myself to in order to hang on to hope for a peaceful and prosperous Nepal.
