Heavy clashes in Palpa’s Tansen (11:30 p.m) Reports coming in from the western district of Palpa say heavy fighting is going on between the security forces and the Maoist rebels in the district headquarters, Tansen, late Tuesday. A resident of Tansen told Nepalnews over the phone that the clashes started at around 11:00 p.m. and are continuing at the moment. He further said he could hear sounds of gunfire and bomb explosions from different directions of the town. The authorities could not be reached for details about the clashes.
