Hi everyone, Sorry this has taken some time but a few of us had to agree to do this first. We are here to clarify the halla over the nebraska gang fights. We contacted kashishji via email to tell him to no give any more information and he told us he wasn't planning to because he dind't have complete information and beause he was well aware of the safety issues. But even after diplomatically clearing out the issue ppl continued to attack him so we finally decided to do this. Please find all the details below so that this chapter is closed once and for all. 1) Yes, it did happen. 2) We were involved in one of them. it was because in Nepal we were studying in schools that used to fight and when we came to Nebraska automatically freinds from schools got together and friends from another school got together and there were 2 rival gangs. Then of course on friday night and weekend you get drunk which Nepalese are famous for. And then after getting drunk, obvisouly we got into a gang fight. Thank god there was no serious injury except for a few stitches considering that knives were involved. 3) No, we cannot give you details because (a) criminal record (b) admitting to crimes (c) making those records public not jsut for nepali ppl on this site but forever on the internet (d) that can cause legal problems since 2 weeks ago there were news that police arrested ppl based on information they found out about the case on internet discussions. There have been several other cases where police have found information in online discusions and blogs to arrest people invovled in past crimes. 4) the article by kashishji has definitely helped many family and relative in Nepal who were worried. Insted of focusing on that real agenda, it was sad to see our friends in nebraska getting defensive and accusing other people. 5) we would like to thanks kashish ji for not giving out detials despite everything that was being said about him on this website. Somebody even called his work "bad journalism." we wonder what that person has to say now. Insted of praising a journalist for helping give peace to thousands of parents and relative in Nepal, ppl accused him of many bad things. Tht we feel was very bad. It was even more sad to find out that our friends from Nebraska were saying these bad things. And to all the young nepali students in US------- please keep yoursevels safe. We were foolish to fight in our days but we were lucky that we never got arrested or injured badly. But luck is not alwyas on everybody's side. peace.
