as long as the word files open in ms word when you double click it is already okay. but if it doesn't then do these: 1. right click any .doc file and click open with ->choose program. 2. Find the program in winword, word or something that resembles that it is word app in c:\program files\office (sometimes office 11 for office 2003). 3. make sure you have checked the button that says, make this app defaul to such files. You should be fine then.
