Dear Friends, We have all been mourning a very tragic incident involving 3 young Nepali students from Minnesota. As a tribute to departed souls, let us please make it a habit to BUCKLE UP every time we are in a car regardless of if we are the driver or in the passenger seat or in the back seat. In the case Nishma, Bedija, and Utsav, who were all traveling in the back seat of the car without their seatbelts on, at the time of accident. The driver of the vehicle and the front seat passenger escaped the accident with only minor injuries as they both had their seatbelts on. Similarly, the 82 years old driver of the oncoming vehicle involved in the accident only sustained minor injuries as he too was wearing his seatbelt. Had our fellow brother and sisters had their seatbelts on, it might have made a difference. So please please please, next time you’re in a car BUCKLE UP.
