babaal, if she gets here on F-1 or any other visa, it'll be a lot better for you. so you might not mind the wait as change of status will happen in due course with you two being together. the only problem could be that your spouse'll have to maintain status for a while. i think even if she gets here and as long as you are a green card holder, the time taken is about the same. it'll be a lot faster after you become a citizen.
