Such a shame

We are all deeply shocked by the death of 11 innocent villagers by one insane security personnel. We want the perpetrators to be punished as soon as possible. I stop short of advocating death penalty for such a murderer simply because it has been abolished lately. Let us hope that things are rectified so that similar incidents do not get repeated. In the mean time, when we extend our deep condolences to the breaved, we should support independent enquiries so that facts are brought to the surface. Also, though lives can not be bought, we demand compensations and employment opportunities for the family members of the dead. But I was very shocked and saddened, like most of us, to learn that some political parties demanded a Kathmandu-shut-down in response. Instead of waiting for the enquiries to come up with facts, all they could do was create more trouble for the general population. It made me sick to the stomach to see some shops being vandalized and poor taxi drivers being pelted with stones and bricks all in the name of democracy. Then again , what more can you expect from Nepali Congress and Communist parties? Such a shame.
