I HATE BANDS. Political parties have yet to learn the lesson from the 90s that bands are more harmful than beneficial to them. The silent majority (like me) gets turned off from their cause. There are ways to protest other than calling Bands, chakka jam, or whatever. I applaud Mr Rabindra Mishra for pestering Ram Chardra Paudel on this issue in today’s BBC interview. There is economic dimension of bands also. I am not sure if anyone in Nepal has calculated the economic costs - I am sure it is less than $400 million/day New York City is going to lose if public transportation workers go on strike tomorrow :)
