Lily, You can also call the Local Bar Association either of your county or the State and ask for a referral for an Immigration Attorney--or, you could try using the web site. Secondly, depending on your case and your income level, there may be local non-profit organizations that have attorney's on staff to provide free or what they call "graduated income" help i.e...you get charged based on your income if you fall within a maximum annual income cap. Another thing to do is irrespective of any attorney that you find, do not hire them until you check their background record with the Bar Association. Every State Bar website has an option allowing you to enter the attorney's name and that will let you know if there have been any suspensions, public censures etc for bad work or bad conduct on the part of the attorney.
