Definitely CH, Nepal has truly become unsafe. Leaving Maoists aside, there are more gangs, thieves in Kathmandu. A lot of them are drug users who need money for drugs. One of my friends� dad got threatened with khukuri and got robbed in daylight on the way to his office in the middle of Kathmandu (Baneshwor). When I was in Nepal few months ago, my maiju was telling me an incident where two people came on a motorbike and tried to snatch away her bag, and that this type to incident happens quite often in Kathmandu in broad day light. And now the tourists are also facing the same situation. They carry around camera, traveller�s check, and cash with them and are good and easy target. For backpackers, Nepal has become extremely unsafe. All the travel and guide books need to be updated with the current security situation of the country so that the tourists don�t get misled.
