First of all let me state this: I am not pro-monarchrist before you all start blaming. - Yes, King is corrupt and he is surrounded by corrupt people. Paras do not desreve to be king either. So whats the alternative? Bring the maoits in the power? Just show me one good reason why the maoists will not come to power when King is forced to decline the thrown? My reasoning: 1. Moasits have never kept their words. They are eyeing on red state. The leaders are too corrupt and too shallow to even care about who is in the power. All they want is to share the piece of pie. 2. The leaders said they realised their mistake. But they gotta show by behavior. They have to show commitment to give a clean cheat people to come to power. COrrupt leadrs like Girija, Makune, Bame etc should leave for good. Actually they need to be prosecuted and indicted for the corruption and massive misuse of power. As I am from Kathmandu, I will never in my life want to see maoists in the power. If the maoist are in power, first of all we will alienated from international community and all the sanctions to add up. I do not see how it is sustainable. Other factor, they pose direct threat to people in KTM. I fear street to street looting, murder, massacare, rape if these satans are in power. Proposed Logical Solution. You all can have your alternatives: Strong transparent framework to root out corruption within the essence of time; Banning of all the backlisted leaders untill proven not guilty. (should be within essence of time); & king back into constituion. I do not think we can just root out king. I am saying this as an independent who is trying to anlyze the situation. If the situation comes where he sees the threat where he has to rescind the crown, he will use each and every mean to stay in the power. That may include massive disaaparnces, executions and so on. So we will be heading to all out war. It wil take years to end the civil war. After this, again maosits might come to power, which will be more devastating. Look at the example of Iran. Corrupt Shahs were replaced by extremist Isalamists. Again there they had support. In Nepal, Maoists might replace the king that also after long war. If you argue about democratic republic, then the maoists should sign the accord with full and total commitment to democracy and also strict commitment to human rights which apparaently they have not done. Right now I see two extremists group. There should be comprimise to end the crisis. If the king is not willing to comprimise, people need to form a formidable force which do not include the opportunitsts. Else, I do not see the solution. You guys continue with the discussion. I pray for the peace in Nepal and solution to the crisis. peace out PS: I can never trust these leaders who have stabbed us on the back.
