I was reading " how to read a poem" and here are some what I gathered. yo biddhiman harulai maile ke bhannu parla ra tara general readers haru lai hai. Because people like me have to literary background. 1. Read the poem quickly for the first time and get the general idea or theme of the poetry. Don't worry if you do not understand. 2. Second time pick the key words even though it is compact and economical. Mark the sentences, words and idioms and phrases. 3. Do not read word by word, read sentence by sentence. 4. Try to relate that with your own experience and events. 5. See how the time and events have influenced the poet. 6. Try to find the music in it with the rhymes and rythms and the flow. 7. Read aloud in your mind. Do you understand more this time ? Read again ! 8. Poems are not supposed to be understood perfectly.
