Susta People Demand Security Against Indian Highhandedness 2005-11-19 13:45:46 By Ram Raj Pokhrel, BUTWAL: People in Susta region of Nawalparasi district, bordering with India, on Friday submitted a memorandum at the Lumbini Zonal Administration Office, demanding proper security arrangement for them. They have repeatedly complained of the encroachment attempts and highhandedness by the Indian border security forces (SSB). The memorandum demands for protection and security to local people and the Nepalese territory. It also says two local residents, Munish Chamar and Samdha Shah, were held by Indian border security guards on Tuesday. After that, their whereabouts are not known. About two dozens of local people had submitted the memorandum to the Zonal Administrator, Ram Krishna Panta. They said they would directly appeal to His Majesty the King in case the Zonal office, too, ignores their call. They also complained that the government ignored their plight although they even staged a sit-in in Kathmandu last month.
