Personally , i liked the book as a whole.The writer has , while romantacising aspects of Confederate America, with stealth managed to show up the that particular era for what it is . The love story part as u put it is as well, amazingly timeless.Who could help loving Ashley Wilkes , or more importantly , the seemingly caddish Rhett butler. Cheers! Gone with the wind....
