It is true that football/Soccer is not popular in USA as compared to other games. But its popularity has taken a surge (I mean upward) after women's team won world cup in 1994, (remember Mia Ham) the soccer playing has grown in leaps and bounds all across US not just woman's but also men's as well. US have come a long way to be recognized as one of the football/soccer playing nations in a short time.
