Guys, If you are alien who entered USA after 26th birthday OR you did not have your permanent residency till your 26th birthday there is seperate option to get selective service registration. Well, you can never register officially after 26th birthday( which is law even for US citizens) but what happens is they (www.sss.gov) will give you a LETTER explaining why you are unable to register. NOW, this letter is your certificate, NEVER loose it and whenever you need show this letter and give its copies to different organisation in need (like citizenship interview, Joining US army, getting FAFSA stafford student loan and many more). Just showing this letter will be enough and they will waive your requirements. ONLY men need to do this not women ..... even women go to army equally. If you are PR, no need to contact your lawyer, others I do'nt know but I think you do not need to.
