TI report NEW DELHI: Transparency International (TI) on Tuesday said corruption in India has come down over the last one year. The TI?s Corruption Perception Index, 2005, has placed India at the 88th position among 159 nations, down by two ranks from last year. Pakistan has been placed at the 144th position. Berlin-based TI has placed China and Sri Lanka at the 78th position while Afghanistan and Nepal share the 117th rank. Myanmar is placed at 155th position. Iceland is the least corrupt country while Bangladesh and Chad are the most corrupt, the report says. The United Kingdom has been placed 11th with Netherlands while United States has been placed at the 17th position. The survey not only deals with petty corruption but also ranks public services and states. ?The study also looks into systematic aspects of corruption in public services,?
