A great write-up indeed. I am fascinated by the underlying social dynamics and class tension in Nepalese society in America which Manjushree touches on a little bit. It seems the kind of things she talks about exist in Nepalese communities across the country. Whether it is established professionals pooh-pooing the upstarts, or students and young professionals looking down on people working in restaurants, or family members patronizing those working as maids and baby sitters, the Nepalese community in America is anything but classless. I personally don't have the energy and the intellectual wherewithal to write on this subject but I feel this is one area that has been underserved by sociologists and journalists alike and its's always great to read something that touches on this (touchy to some) subject.
