Why are parties planning to boycott election?

I think parties decision to boycott election is really dumb and also a big obstacle in taking country back to democratic track. Only reason for their boycott could they are afraid that they do not have public support enough to go in for election or they are afraid of facing us after failure of 12 years.... If they really think they are together and they can defeat king, they have public support, why do not they announce joint candidate and try to defeat other candidates from king side. Student unions did that during campus election and it worked for them. I think if parties really want to defeat king and bring back democracy, they should give joint candidancy. If they win they will be able to put in their parties person by publicly electing. These candidates will not have to follow king and king will not be able to fire them, slowly power will come back to public... I think our dumb and dumber neta of Nepal should think of participating in election with joint candidancy rather than boycott.... else this political stalemate will never end... If they boycott, it clearly shows all parties are fighting for is power not democracy... they do not care about process they just care to be seated on the chair.. This is true test for parties and their faithfulnees towards democracy let us see what they will do.
