Gyanendras, It is too early to tell whether or not the current political crisis is contributing to give birth a fairminded young figure. To this point Gagan seems to stick with his principles of monarchy-less democratic system, caste system, constitutional referendum etc. These agendas which were the forefront of maoist voices when they first took on the battlefield Gagan has tried to direct them towards mainstream political environment. The major obstacle though is he belongs to the party that has only produced corrupt figures esp. after the restoration of democracy and Koiral-ization of NC is inevitable as Koiralas are known to compromise with any other political forces including the despotic monarchy seeking their short-cut to power(a sad reality of Nepal) and the recent convention has contributed for that matter since it has produced more Koiralas.Sometimes too much publicity imposes too much responsibilty on who ever gets the spotlight.Expectation skyrockets and in the end public tend to get disappointed. This situation is inevitable because historically we public tend to expect more from the leadership level but are delived less than our expectations. The epicenter of the problem is not which leader would lead Nepal and Nepalese would finally sense the relief from the maoists but who will be persuasive enough to bring the maoists to the main stream of Nepali politics leading them to give up their arms.Despotic monarch and the corrupt political parties gave birth to the maoists and Gagan comes from the latter. So it is hard to tell.
