Hi buddha4peace Per my understanding, this year NANC plans on combining the Dasain and Tihar celebrations halfway between Dasain and Tihar. Reasons being, the nepali community in the SF bay and surrounding areas have grown tremendously and each city or community is planning to celebrate amongst their own. NANC does not want to organize a gathering with a weak turnout, therefore decided they will postpone it for the near future. Going to a monastery for prayer and medidation doesn't sound too bad of an idea either. Maybe you'll celebrate dasain with the heavenly bodies ;)
