how things have changed! I came to the US 17 yrs ago, and since we were some of the first to come here thru the process (I-20 and F1s, if you know what I mean) that started late 80s, we had a really hard time 'settling in'- we worked nites 7 days a wk at minimum wage and went to school in the daytime to get our degree, so we could get somewhere in life. Most of us have, and I proudly say this, achieved some degree of success, towards what we worked so hard for. And politics had nothing to do with this. On the other hand, some of our friends back in Nepal are still doing politics. They are all in some central(or otherwise) committee of some party, all graduated after 15 years via different colleges/universities( if they graduated at all), and never a day goes by when they dont issue some "political propaganda' thru a local newspaper, go to some demonstration against someone, switch alliances every 3-4 yrs ( or sooner), and worse of it all make life miserable for their family. They themselves do not know what ideals they are chasing, except they all dream of being in 'power' some day, and running the nation. And we want to promote that kinda stuff here in Sajha?? peace.
