From what I have heard, the rally had about 80-100 people shouting anty monarchy slogans. Everyone wanted the mic and wanted to give some bhaasan. There was basically no media except from Gunaraj Luitel of Kantipur who betrayed his journalistic dharma and exaggerated the number to be over 500. It was more a rally of leader wannabe's. This is a report I received from a friend of mine who attended the rally. That said, I still salute the rallyists who participated and voiced their concern and opinion in NY.
