It's an island, barely the size of a football field. It has been the subject of a heated
controversy over its sovereignity between Canada and Denmark.
Recently, the two countries launched a "cyber warfare" in "google ads" so that whoever
searched for the name of this island was directed to the website of the foreign ministry
or sth like that of the party who paid more to google. In fact, the Danish government
started the google-war but then was singlehandedly countered (and won over) by a
patriot Canadian citizen living in Toronto. Funnier is the fact that then the the Canadians
started searching so much for the name of the island as to turn the Danes into beggars
(the more page hits to the Danish page from google, the more they had to pay for
google) and as such it turned into a "cyber-economic warfare" too.
Recently, Canadian defence minister Bill Graham flew to the island, hoisted the canadian
maple-leaf flag and left a bottle of canadian rye whisky in another attempt to assert the
canadian sovereignity of the island. Clue: Its close to Ellesmere island.
Keep rolling...
