Sunnydev writes at the end above: >>>with the wistful thinking of creating ANtiAshu gang in Sajha<<<< Thank you for your correct observation, Sunnydev. There's always been this TINY MINORITY here on Sajha who cannot digest their meals if they don't attack me for no reason. And so it goes, in a predictably boring manner. I am confident that most sensible and reasonable Sajha folks see their attacks for what they are: howlings of cowards who don't have the balls to swing their bat using their real names. But hey, this sort of howlings happen among us Nepalis, all the time, and that's life. ***** On another note, over the years, I have learnt to turn their attacks into some sort of an experiment for myself. It goes like this: In Nepal, I have noticed that most decent and competent people of many backgrounds are reluctant to enter public service because they are afraid of being unfairly attacked and ridiculed publicly. Most of them cannot digest unfair criticisms and attacks. And that presents this problem. Politics or public leadereship DEMANDS decent/competent people. But such people are opting out of public leadership positions because they fear being unfairly attacked and ridiculed in public. A solution could be that: those Nepalis who aspire to some sort of a public leadership position (ranging from ward chairman to anything above) MUST start actively increasing, bit by bit, their TOLERANCE for unfair and silly attacks by taking them in small doses when they are young. How else is one going to develop a thick skin that one requires to do ANYTHING positive in Nepal? This way, when the time to perform real public duties comes, their coping mechanisms against unfair public attacks is strong, healthy and resilient, and that they are NOT a least bit distracted from their public service. In my optimistic moments (most of the time), I like to frame these attacks in this way, and learn to live with them. Congratulations to Narayan for writing a very interesting novel. I just finished reading it. Will share my coments with Narayan when I get back to KTM. Thank you all for your contributrions to this thread. oohi ashu
