Indian ambassador meets Koirala(NC) and Madhav Nepal(CPN): Indian ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shanker Mukherjee met Nepali Congress president and former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala at the latter?s Maharajgunj residence Thursday morning. According to a Nepali Congress source, Koirala and the Indian envoy discussed the current political situation in Nepal, including the ongoing agitations of the seven parties, the three-month long ceasefire declared by the Maoists as well as the national and international reactions to these developments. Ambassador Mukherjee also inquired about Koirala?s health, the source said. On Tuesday, the Indian ambassador had met CPN (UML) general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal, discussing with him Nepal?s current political situation. India has hailed the Maoist truce saying it could pave way for negotiations for peaceful solution of the problems facing the Himalayan Kingdom.
