While transiting through Los Angeles airport, one has to: 1. clear immigration 2. pick up baggage 3. clear customs 4. re-check in baggage 5. go outside the airport building 6. catch a shuttle bus to another terminal 7. check in for final leg of the flight Is it the same process while transiting through Washington Dulles airport? If I am to fly to Chicago via Washington (with latter being port of entry), can the good folks at Kathmandu airport check my luggage all the way to Chicago and provide the boarding pass for complete voyage? Or, do I have claim my bags, re-check them in, take a bus to another terminal, check myself in for the final flight to my destination? What exactly is the transit process at Washington Dulles airport? How about for New York's JFK airport? Thanks in advance for help.
