I have heard many wishes of the nepali engineering diaspora about doing 'something' back to Nepal. Just wondering, how many of us are associated with the Engineers Without Borders (EWB) and how the folks amongst ourselves would find this platform. We dont have a representative organization right now and I am quite sure even if we make an organization, we wont be unanimously accomodated any farther than a few years. And some of us might be starting out yet another organization and this process of fission reaction of the organization will perpetuate for ever. As far as I am aware, we can use all the auspices, goodwills, and platforms of EWB if we so wish. In fact, they will even assist us with further hands- that is what they are there for. So, how about trying to create a sort of 'Nepal Help Group' within the EWB and move on from that. The best point is, nobody will have a chance to "party futaaune" in the future so that a fair degree of integrity can be expected if we go to launch any projects or whatever. For now, just for sake of discussions hai. I dont have anything up the sleeves neither do i expect to remain more than a volunteer supporter and i m without any ambitions for a post. Lets explore the idea bhanera. I happen to be an active member of the EWB and I am AMAZED at the success of the EWB projects (just by engg students alone) in south america and phillippines. keep rolling...
